Long ago, a great Light was cast by the Creator, and our world as born from it.
Many great things were Lit by this beautiful glow, and peace filled the universe. It was a time of great prosperity, in which humanity thrived in an everlasting sun. However, humans craved more than what they had been given. They desired not only day, but night as well, to create ‘balance’ within the world. Their wish was granted; the being Elestra was born, and in turn she created the Brothers of Darkness: Selfish, Hatred, War, and Loss. They cast the sun-lit world into shadows, causing each person to be chained to the darkness no matter where they tried to run in the Light. Darkness spread throughout the land, seeping into the hearts of Man.
In an effort to combat these shadows, the Creator deceived Elestra into helping him create a daughter of his own. She became Fate, a being full of happiness and hope, but within her core held the potential to destroy those very elements at her command.
The Creator was caged into the shadows by Elestra, and so it was left to Fate to decide how to fix the mess Man had created.
She gifted a select few beings with her powers, calling them the Keepers. These Keepers came from humble grounds—most of them did not even have homes or a family of their own. But these people had faith in Fate, and so she entrusted them with the task of saving themselves.
The Keepers fought the Dark—the shadows created by the Brothers of Darkness—relentlessly. Imperfection with pure intentions clashed against the sharp blade of evil for centuries. The war of shadows and light was only brought to a pause when Fate finally intervened, shattering the Dark into tiny pieces across the span of the universe. Every Man was punished for his cruel wish by being forced to accept a piece of this into their soul, and they remained chained to the shadow of their own form, to forever remind them that they were the evil that caused the Dark to rise in the first place.
No one knows what truly happened to the Keepers after this. Some believe that Fate took back what was rightfully hers, freezing them with her will until their time for action was called upon again. Others say they were invited to remain eternally in her father’s domain for the sacrifice they made. Still, many believe that the Keepers still roam about us, their spirits alive inside their distant children of the present and future, forever waiting for the moment when Man will slip up again.
But now, the Dark has slowly pieced itself back together…and so must the Light. ~ Almia, Entry 0, Age of Life
So this is a David. Not how he's suppose to look for his PnF role, anyway, but whatever. This is kinda what I thought a 'Keeper' would look like. You know, fancy robes and such. The staff though, I would count that as part of the Keeper ability. Though I won't delve into it too much right now.
